Modular, highly flexible and high performing

Would you like to flexibly combine remote I/O systems with electric and pneumatic automation? And would you also like to customise the automation architecture of your machine to suit your design philosophy for as little cost and effort as possible?

Our modular remote I/O system CPX-AP-A is the answer to these questions and your requirements. Modern automation topologies ensure free and seamless connectivity and when integrated in future-proof and compatible concepts, enable the flexible automation of entire machines or individual machine modules. This is independent of the network used and without restrictions: the perfect interaction of pneumatics and electrics, communicative and intelligent, right up to the cloud.

1. Fieldbus module

  • For communication in Ethernet-based networks
  • Communication interface to other AP participants
  • Can be freely positioned and independently of the 24 VDC power supply

2. Intelligent end plate

  • Cost-effective and compact AP interface for additional AP participants
  • Real-time communication with a data rate of 200 MBaud and cycle time of 250 μs

3. Input and output modules, IO-Link master

  • All modules can be freely connected in series and combined as required
  • Digital and analogue input and output modules up to 32-way possible in the future
  • IO-Link master for IO-Link® devices from Festo and third-party suppliers

4. Interlinking blocks without power supply

  • Transmission of voltage and communication between modules and to the valve terminal
  • Connection to each other using self-forming angled fittings

5. Interlinking blocks with power supply (24 VDC)

  • Power supply for I/O modules and valve terminals (system and load voltage)
  • Additional supply of load voltage for outputs and valves, for creating voltage zones
  • Forwarding of the system voltage for additional AP devices or external components

6. Pneumatic interface

  • Connection between remote I/O and connected valve terminal
  • For VTUX and MPA-S: flat plate silencer, supply port and pilot air
  • With VTSA: module slot for any I/O module, optional voltage feed/forwarding

7. Valve terminals

Valve terminal variants with full range of functions connected directly to the remote I/O

  • VTUX: Extremely modular
  • MPA-S: Very compact
  • VTSA: Sturdy and powerful

Separated system voltage and load voltage

8. Material selection

Modules and interlinking blocks are made of sturdy, high-quality polymer with fibreglass

  • Flame retardant and halogen-free, suitable for welding applications
  • High electromagnetic compatibility

Metal is used wherever demanded by the relevant standards or when required for mounting

  • Metal sleeves for shielding on plug connectors
  • Connections on the system supply
  • Metal screw fittings, end plates and mounting components
